The mid-1970s saw Zimbabweans across the country rise up with unity of purpose. It was a unified and compelling struggle and principled stand against colonialism by Ian Smith and the white British settlers. This was a very difficult and long struggle. Victory in 1980 however came because the people under a strong leadership persevered and remained focused.
All the people contributed in various and different ways. From the chickens and goats to the mujibhas and chimbwidos. We therefore need to realize that the state of collapse in our country today require all of us to pull together and engage through a genuine substantive and authentic process.
The depth of the rot is so grave and change will not come through cheap political slogans. At the centre of the revival of Zimbabwe is not money but rather NEW POLITICS of integrity and genuine stewardship. The fundamental principle here is that money cannot buy life. On the contrary prosperity is a result of Integrity and good governance.
Each one of us has a duty to stand up for the forgotten children of Zimbabwe, the ones whose education system has since collapsed more than five years ago. We each have a duty to stand for those languishing in poverty. We must all stand up for those who are starving and dying in Zimbabwe Prisons. The time to stand is now. With whatever we each have in our hands, whether it is money, talents or time, we each can come together and stand for freedom.
We are not fighting for regime change in Zimbabwe but rather we must stand up for new politics. We must do away with the present culture of cheap slogans and political privilege.
* Our first action for standing up for our Country is to forward this email to all people in your mail box.
* Secondly login http://www.udazimbabwe.com and consider if you can identify with our vision for new politics
* Just mere demonstrations or protest marches are now less desirable.
* Activism and mobilization of people towards a tangible deliverable is what Zimbabwe needs.
