MDC-T mp dies

Mabvuku MP, Hon. Shepherd Madamombe has died. Hon. Madamombe died last night at Parirenyatwa hospital in Harare after a short illness. He was born on 3 June 1963 in Seke and leaves behind a wife, Sukhuhle and four children Simba, Mildred, Media and Christopher. Mourners are gathered at number 32 Save Road in Mabvuku, Harare. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.

In Bindura, Mashonaland Central province, the MDC chairperson for Bindura North, Tongai Jack was on Wednesday paid US$1 500 by four jailed Zanu PF supporters as compensation for his house in Chipadze that they damaged last year in December. The Zanu PF supporters, Wellington Chitehwe, Anywhere Mavhangira, Phillip Magaso and Jonah Nyakudya were this year jailed to 44 months for storming Jack’s house of which 12 months were suspended on condition that they pay a US$1 500 as restitution to Jack.

They are currently serving sentence at Bindura Prison. The four also wrote an apology letter to Jack for their actions. “We regret damaging your house. We did this after we were influenced by certain senior Zanu PF officials in the area. However, we feel much neglected after those who assigned us to do this are not helping us and we are rotting in prison. Please forgive us for what we did,” part of the letter to Jack reads.

In Mashonaland West province, armed Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) agents, driving a white twin cab, are threatening villagers in Zvimba West not to attend the MDC Real Change rally scheduled for Saturday at Jari business centre. A Zanu PF militia base has been set at Nyimo village in Sanyati, Midlands North province to “deal” with MDC supporters who do not attend Zanu PF rallies in the area. In a similar incident, Zanu PF is blocking the MDC from organising meetings or to assemble in most wards of Umguza, Matebeleland North province.

Meanwhile, the deputy chairperson of Hwange Town, Clr Patricia Mwale with the assistance of a local non-governmental organisation, Environment Africa has started a nutritional garden for the elderly and vulnerable children in the area.mdc supp
