Dynamos edge Entente Setif

Dynamos edged visiting Entente Setif of Algeria to finally open their account in the Orange CAF Champions League group phase campaign in their third attempt at Rufaro On Sunday.

A wonder strike by former Masvingo United midfielder Wonder Sithole after the half hour mark was all Dynamos needed to collect maximum points against their Group A rivals.

The victory ensured Dynamos secured their first set of three points after losing to TP Mazembe and Esperance in their first two matches. They sit in third place with three more matches to go.

An average crowd, by Dynamos standards on such crucial encounters witnessed the crucial victory as local fans continue to stay away from domestic matches.

Dynamos completely dominated the first half as the midfield were quick to pounce on all the loose balls as they pressurised the tactically superior North Africans.

Led by the impressive Abderahmane Hachoud, Setif came back into the second half a much more determined side as they battled to find the elusive equaliser, but huffed until the end of the match.

Results Group A (on Sunday)
